Logitech Quickcam for Notebooks ( 961404-0403 )

I have been using this webcam for quite some time now and it works just fine.

Pros : Fits perfectly to my DELL 700m and its flexible ball head is maneuverable. USB connected. Microphone works great(infact have stopped using my headphones with mike also from logitech).

Cons : Needs the subject to be well lit with light

Would defintely recommend to all users and with that pricetag its a steal !



If you are looking for quality image/pic then this should be last option. You need to have a very high high high lights in room to get a clear image. It looks cute..fits in well but not worth if u r looking for quality image.

This webcam is pretty okay. It looks cute, small, and fits right on top of your laptop. However, without SUPER CRAZY ADDITIONAL lights you really can't see anything and the image is pretty "grainy".

Excelent picture quality, but sometimes the laptop screen clip is hard to attach.

Pretty much a steal of a deal for a webcam... it works just like a $30 webcam should... solid operation with decent quality. The rubber clamp mount telescopes out enough to accommodate relatively thick screens, mine's about 3/8" - 1/2" and it fits just right. The built in mic works pretty well too for being as small as it is as well. The only gripe I had is that I had to check "Color Fix" and jack the saturation up all the way to make people even LOOK natural... the cam also doesn't do too stellarly in low-to-medium light situations, so you have to tweak the gamma and brightness a bit. But that's not too big of a hassle since the software is easy to use and you can also adjust it from within MSN or Yahoo or what have you. All in all this is a great cam if you're looking for something on the cheap.

I purchsed this webcam because if offered the cam + mic. It works just fine. Don't expect too much.

Pros: Very small & fits nicely on your laptop.
Mic works great, provided you install the appropriate drivers.
Great for laptops without in-build mics.

Cons: Very light & fits only on laptops. Not free standing.
Picture is good only with enough light. But this can be overcome with configuration in most softwares. Still a little grainy.
Flimsy plastic focus ring, my 8 month old abused it once and it's kind of broken since.

It works perfect in my notebook. Is easy to use, you can take pictures, movies, also configure the camera setting while you use it, so yo can change the image every time you use it, depending on the enviroment light.

You can also rotate it in many angules, so the camera fits t your position, and you dont have to "work" for the camera.

Is simply the best

I wanted to buy something I could use on my laptop and something that is not expensive, and this web-cam serves the purpose. If you are looking for a webcam for your Skype or any other IM client this is OK, the resolution is pretty low, but that was not the purpose of this purchase.

It's definately the moneys worth. It's not the best but it's really good quality. The best part about this Web Cam is that it comes with a microphone. Since I don't have one on my laptop, it's very convient for me to have one. Not only do I have a mic, but a camera as well. I'd recommend buying it. BTW: I did compare this product to other sites (not sure if I can name them) but this was the best price for the very same product. Other sides had it starting at 39.99 to 49.99. I always do research first. I'd recommend this Web Cam for people who are looking for a small (literally for a notebook), 4 star rated camera.

Worst webcam I have ever seen. The image is so blurr and hardly anything you can make from that. Also the image is too much dotted. Hardly you can say the design is for webcam sch a pathetic webcam is this.

This camera works Ok , it needs a bright light source at the back to clearly see the image.For 30$ it is good starter but if you are concerned about image clarity ,then this is not the right one.

I like this webcam, as it sits well on my laptop and works reasunably well in medium light. good purchase...

I purchased this webcam as a gift for a friend overseas so I haven't used it much yet. What little time I have used it, it seems to work OK although the field of view seems to be more limited than the Logitech QuickCam Pro 5000 which I use on my desktop. But for a portable webcam, I think it will be completely satisfactory.

I recently bought this camera to video/call thru skype from my laptop and I don't thing it was worth it. It needs a lot of light and the image is a little pixeled. Don't get me wrong it is not that bad, if money is really an issue go ahead and get it, but if you can afford a little more buy the Quickcam for Notebooks DELUXE as it is worth the difference (Needs "almost" no light but the light emitted by my laptop screen and the face tracking thing is kind of cool)

Installed fine on my Windows XP Compaq EvoN180, and built-in microphone works well with Skype. My daughter is happily skyping with her grandparents now - not the greatest frame rate or resolution but they enjoy it. I place the laptop right in front of a tall table lamp so that resolves the darkness issue.

i liked this product. Its tiny. It holds on nicely on the laptop. Then you can nicely rotate around for focussing on objects around the place. The picture is clear but coloring seems not as good. But overall very good bargain for the price.

I purchased this few days back as my first web cam and the quality of picture and sound is very clear....It's a worthy product to buy and enjoy....

I had recently purchased this product from Amazon.com and used it on my Notebook, So far, I have not faced any problems, the Picture quality is good and the Microphone clarity and quality also seems to be better.
Rest for the product, it has all the features mentioned and works perfectly the same.
The reason for 4 stars was that Amazon could not provide me with the mail-in-rebate which was attached with this item.

I purchase mainly becasue of microphone (excellent response), as such camera functionality is OK.

This is compact, portable, fits well on notebooks. Picture quality is good during day, ok in night!

This webcam looks cute in size but not in its function. Its picture is very dull and almost others can not recognize you. I almost stopped it using in the nights. Even day times also its very dull. Better not to go for this product. The other webcam I bought from Creative for the same price is working good and giving nice picture

Does what it's supposed to: show your ugly face to the world. Sure it's not HD quality, but for 35 bucks what do you expect. Bottom line: if you're on a budget, buy it. If you're not and are tempted by a more expensive product, buy it anyway; you can always donate the price difference to charity.

This is my first webcam and I'm pretty happy with its performance. My sister has one of a similar price with a somewhat blurry image, mine is much sharper. Yes, you need a decent amount of light, but that's not that bad. The microphone works pretty well, too. Only thing is that it's very close to not fitting my laptop's screen. I have a Dell Inspiron 5100 I bought 2 1/2 years ago. No other reviews refer to this problem, so I guess my laptop is much thicker than most people's. But if you have a relatively thick laptop, I recommend that you take a look at this first.

I had a cheap webcam (Veo brand) that i purchsed from Walmart. I purchased this this to replace the earlier webcam. It produces so-so quality under good lighting conditions, but under low light its just horrible, my earlier webcam did much better job than this one. The whole point of buying a notebook webcam is to be on the move, but with this one its more like using your laptop like a desktop just to get good lighting conditions for this webcam.

I can say simply good webcam and good deal.



I bought another Logitech camera a few years ago and we still love it. I needed one that clipp ed to my laptop screen for my numerous video calls to my dear friend in Sweden. Works perfectly, clips on securely, easy to load software. I have a Toshiba Satellite with a 17' screen and it clipped on with no problems. Great picture & sound too!

This is a great camera and works very well. It clips right on my notebook screen and has little rubber feet so it won't scratch. The people I webcam with say the audio sounds good and the video looks good. I am very happy with my purchase!

The size quality and performance is outstanding.

I have two other Web Cam (less than 2 years old) that seem very outdated next to this small lightweight unit.

The main value of the unit is it's notebook compatability.
Small, easy to attach, small for transport, built in microphone.

Quality under strong lighting is decent, but videos with indoor lighting (at night) are too dark. There is a "light enhancing" feature for use with indoor lighting, but the colors are off and image quality is degraded. I have not tried other web cams in this price range. But it seems like this level of quality is satisfactory for the price.

The product is not upto the expectations...the quality of the picture is not good.....

Very nice cam but did not fit the lid of my IBM laptop.

Excellent item to purchase and easy to use tools and extra tools that it comes with.

I had hope this wouldn't be your typical plastic cam with wimpy software, botchy installation and bad quality. Nope, it was. Been through lots of webcams....this one is a standard junky filler camera to get to the masses. I just returned it.

Got this one for the sleek looks and thought it would be great product.. unfortunately i'm shattered with its performance. the images are too grainy, dark and you will look like a ghost unless you are in daylight...or maybe in floodlights.
Definitely not suggested for home use especially night use. I never used the mic present as I had a logitech headphone...so dn't know abt it.
This was a disaster after Logitech Quick Cam Pro 5000 which I had. So go for it instead of it, if u dn't mind using a desktop version.


Ok, the deal with this webcam is not the picture, the image is great and has a fast response. The thing is that the software that comes with needs some work, every time you want to use it you have to unplug it, connect it, wait for it to setup, THEN, if you are lucky, you are good to go, but sometimes you have to repeat the process a couple of times.

I like the camera but sometimes the person receiving the image looks me a little dark.

It has very good definition but is slow, even in the night is not that good and is slower.

This quickcam is very small and easy to carry around. I was surprised at how small it is when I got the package. I have a Toshiba Satellite and it fits really well. However, the outcome of the cam is often a little dark. Make sure your room is extremely bright in order to get clear videos.

One of my children suggested I get the webcam so we could have video hookups since he lives about 500 miles away and a phone call just wasn't enough. Just as a test I told them about a house going up across the street, I put the camera at the window, and they were able to see it and describe it to me. This camera is amazing.

At Christmas it was wonderful having the whole family together wtihout their having to travel home. The full screen view was great. My grandchildren loved sharing the opening of the presents with them.

They're now in Thailand for a funeral and later a wedding. They brought their camera with them and I'll be able to see them every night. I'm really happy with the performance. Imagine free video calls on the other side of the world!



There isn't anything outstanding about this camera honesty. Its easy to setup and play, and it gives a OK picture. Nothing to brag about, however, it is a good buy for the price.

This a decent and capable webcam for the price...as long as you're in a well-lit room. Personally, I like to keep my computer room dark so I'm not too thrilled with this camera - I was hoping the light from my monitor would be enough but my image is completely dark, even with a small lamp on in the room. I have to turn on the overhead light when using this camera.
The good part is that the picture is very acceptable (while never great) in those conditions. Considering the low price, and small size, this is an okay webcam. It's intended for notebooks but I figured I could use it for my desktop and just clip it onto my flat-panel. No can-do. The clip doesn't spread apart enough to do that so i just affixed it to the back of my panel with some double-sided tape.
Looking back, I probably wouldn't buy this camera again.

I got this camera because I thought it would be functional to have a small camera while travelling, thinking all the people in Europe I literally broadcast! However, I was very disappointed that the picture is very weak, the contrast and colors are as well. I normally use Creative WebCam and must say it has best of all I needed! This camera is small, really tiny and just sits on your laptop screen. However, that is pretty much it!

It is not as good as recommended. The image is really unclear when the light is not strong, and it's totally white under strong light. The contrast is low.

It's not a good product, useless

The receiver of the images complains of the images not being bright enough. And the USB cord could have been a little longer.. but otherwise i have no complaints. clips on easily on my HP notebook. is small n cute. n is one of the most economical webcams inthe market!

This webcam is good deal for the price you pay.
The only problem I faced was with installing the product. It will most of the times not recognize the hardware after installing the software but doing this exercise 2-3 times does resolve the issue.
Once installed this works great.

This is one of the worst web cam's I bought. You need to have a powerful lighting conditions to view the image, otherwise, you can just view black screen....
Not a good idea to spend amount on this..


I first use the Amazon chase credit card to shop, but I have not any discount like this website said it will substract $30 for fisrt purchase by far. So, how can you solve it problem?

for the price, this camera works great for laptops. it gets a little blurry under low light conditions, but all around a great purchase

I am very happy with this webcam. It was quick and easy to set up, and the quality is suprisingly good.

This is a good webcam under normal light conditions. If its little dark then you may have to tweak the settings. Overall very good and Handy Webcam. Fits into my Laptop very well

I purchased this as a gift for someone who told me it is awesome and the perfect camera for a lap top. It even has a built in mic. He thanks me every day... and lets me spy on him from time to time. :-)

A Good Webcam in it's price range.Good quality of picture but under low light conditions picture is not so good, but not bad..

this camera does not work well, unless there is direct sunlight to your face. otherwise the image is very dark, and you can hardly see your face.

I am very happy with my choice, this webcam works really well! The integrate mic is sensitive and precise, the picture is good and smooth if you have a good connection. Strongly suggested.

This camera broke down a few days after i bought it and it won`t hold on my notebook anymorew unless i tape it!!! Had to buy another one. Looks cute but not strong enough.

Easy to setup - I like the way it clips to the screen of my laptop.
Works quite nicely in well-lit areas. Outside it does a great job.


It works great as a web cam. However its microphone worse de conversation quality and so I need to take the camera out to solve the probleme. But I am not sure if this pattern always happen, because I depend on the feedback from the conversation partner. One weakeness of the software is that it is not able to make movies, but pictures is possible.

The botton line is: it`s small, works well with the computer and the image has a good quality.

I actually bought the webcam in bundle with the Logitech headphone and it was a cool deal. The webcam is very convenient to use and my all friends and family have commented that they can see me clearly. It can very conveniently be fixed on the laptop screen and rotated around at 360 degrees. The only thing I did not like is it hangs sometimes and you have to click on the broadcast option. So you have to constantly make sure the webcam is working or is at still.

Small, lightweight, pretty easy to setup. Picture quality good in good to bright light, but falls off quick as lighting dims. Getting the various IM programs to use it can consume tons of time though.

Isn't tech fun? This little, yet powerful and pretty amazing notebook webcam is just what I was looking for. A good quality, well built and affordable camera that I can take with me anywhere, take snapshots, e-mail photo's and video clips. It has all the neat features that I was looking for at a good price.

I purchased this product a month a ago. This is a wonderful webcam. easily fits in my laptop, takes photos and videos. Also we can adjusts its resolution for low light effects.

Not a bad camera for the cost. But, beware of the depth of your laptop screen. Mine was too deep and the clip could not expand wide enough to accept it. And I would not consider my laptop to be overly big.

I recommend it if you want an in-expensive but darn good web cam. Great audio and video. I use it to make web cam photos and videos for my friends.

the webcam is beautifully designed, very fashionable and high tech. However, it can't fit on every laptop because the clip only expands a little bit. I had to return it because I can't put it on my laptop.

I passionately recommend this product. It has a wonderful vision and is a user-friendly item.

Yes it is cheap, but the image is very poor.
THe camra sensor does not handle poorly lit rooms. You need much light in order to see the other person. The resolution it self is also low making the picture quality bad.

The clip did not fit on our laptop aswell.

Quick and easy to install.
Had some difficulty with an echo being transmitted, fixed with fine tuning the software.
Great product for the price.

The Quickcam is easy to use. The built in mic works fine, too. It does not do a good job of capturing light. One has to hold an additonal light source (1.e. flashlight, etc) in order to be seen. What finally worked for me was buying a clip on flexible light to mount on my laptop next to the Quickcam.

You can never go wrong with a Logitech. They're usually pretty expensive, but not this webcam! It's got excellent resolution, great response time/frames per second, and easy connectivity with programs! The software included is excellent as well, definitely above par. It comes with an adjustable clip built in for differing laptop screen widths. Recommended for all!!!!

I love this item! I bought it for my daughter for her birthday.And it made her very happy. It's a great way for her to stay in touch her friends that she made when she went away to school.Now she's going aboard and I'll be happy to see her face to face too. The only negative feature is that sometimes the boice and picture aren't in sync. But if you can deal with a minor dealy then it's a great item.

probably a good webcam, but freeware Macam driver does not allow this webcam model to function with skype

I loaded the software given with this web camera in my Windows Vista, once the software is installed my sound card is not working. Not using this product at all.

this has been the worst web cam I've ever experienced. The picture is horrible, I look like I'm in Paris Hilton's next night vision video (minus the sex), but worst of all is the sound quality, it makes a really annoying buzzing noise that ranges from tolerable to wanting to flush this thing down the toilet. If you do want to take your chances with this one, keep the packaging and test it out right away so you can make the necessary return.

Nice cam. Doing the job as said. Perfectly fits for my Dell Inspirn E1505.

A general suggestion :

Notebook cams are not very convenient. Its better to choose a notebook with integrated webcam. Its OK for bit older notebooks.

Easy to use, the camera have a nice resolution, the built in mic is great too

Picture quality is pretty good... havent had any problems with it yet, runs with vista thank god.

Installation was fairly easy, and I was able to download the Vista driver from the Logitech website. I use this webcam primarily for Yahoo and MSN Instant Messaging, and the image transmitted is ok. The only complaint I get from friends on the other end is that the image is a bit grainy and not bright enough. So it is best used in a well-lit room. It comes with software that allows you to adjust the image quality somewhat.

Pros:
Small yet effective for IM'ing, and clips on nicely on my DELL Inspiron 1505.

Cons:
Image quality is sub-par.

Supposedly this is a good brand for a webcam, but I think its one of the worst quality web cams I have ever seen! The color is awful, it always seems blurry no matter what adjustments I have made, and having this cam on a notebook, you can't adjust the cam so that you see more than just someone's face. Its too close up!!! It also doesn't fit very well on my notebook either. I'm just not at all happy with it.
